How to eliminate chickens in laying hen cages
Mar 13, 2020
In general, in order to improve the economic benefits of
chicken cages breeding, farmers should eliminate the low-yield chickens in time and only keep the high-yield chickens for breeding according to the physiological characteristics of the flock. :
1. Crowns and meat clams: Farmers can identify whether the laying hens are high-yielding chickens through the crowns and meat claws of laying hens. Generally, the cocks and meat claws that are laying eggs are bright red, and they are delicate and warm because of their strong blood circulation . Discontinued cockscombs and meat crusts will gradually shrink and become pale and dry.
2. Cloaca: Farmers can also use the cloaca to identify whether the laying hens are high-yielding hens. Generally, the cloaca of high-yielding hens is large, oval, moist, and white.
3. Pubic bone: The pubic bone is also a good method for farmers to identify whether the flock is a high-yielding layer. Generally, the pubic bone of a high-yielding layer is soft, stretched and elastic, with three to four fingers wide (called open crotch). However, the pubic bone end of the laying hens is relatively tight, and the distance is relatively short. Generally, it can only accommodate one to two fingers, and bends inward and hard.
4. The distance between the pubic bone and the keel: At the time of identification, the breeder can also determine whether it is a high-yielding hen by paying attention to the distance between the pubic bone and the keel, because the distance between them can indicate the size of the abdominal cavity. Generally, the laying hens with normal eggs are far away, and they can put down four to five fingers.
5. Abdomen: The abdomen of normal laying hens becomes soft and elastic. Discontinued chickens have tight and hard belly and rough skin.
6. Pigment: Pigments in high-yielding hens and low-yielding hens are not the same. Generally, the mouth and legs of the laying hens are pale yellow or white.
7. Moulting: Laying hens will have a moulting period. Farmers should pay attention to moulting is a key to identify the production performance of laying hens. Generally, the feathers of high-yield chickens are dull, the soil is dark and dry, and the chickens are broken. The feathers are neat and shiny.
