In the process of breeding laying hens, in general, we can divide the laying cycle of laying hens into the pre-laying period, the peak laying period, and the late laying period. The new type of
laying hen cage chickens describes the laying rules of laying hens during laying.
The first laying rule: Pre-laying period: The pre-laying period refers to the period from the beginning of laying to the laying rate of 80%. Generally, the pre-laying period is from the beginning of 21 weeks to the end of 28 weeks. A few breeds of laying hens will be moved to the age of 19-23 weeks at the start of production and the peak egg production.
The second laying rule: Peak production period: The peak production period means that the laying rate of the flock reaches 80%. The egg production rate at the peak of 80% egg production rate still rises rapidly, usually 92% -95% in 3-4 weeks. The egg production rate above 90% can generally be maintained for 10-20 weeks, and then slowly decline. When the laying rate drops below 80%, the laying period of the laying hens is over.
The third laying rule: Late laying period: The laying hens have an average laying rate of less than 80% per week and the chickens are eliminated. This is called the laying period of laying hens, which usually refers to 60-72 weeks of age. The drop rate of laying hens is much larger than the peak drop.
The laying management of laying hens is very important. It is about the performance of laying hens, so we must do a good job in all aspects of feeding management!
